Minnetonka At-Large City Council Member Patty Acomb was elected to the District 44B seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives, which resulted in her resignation from the city council.
At its Jan. 7 meeting, the city council voted to temporarily fill the vacancy via appointment process, and hold a November special election to fill the remainder of the term (through December 2021).
Applications for the temporary appointment were accepted until Monday, Feb. 4 at noon. The council will select finalists and conduct interviews in February. The temporary at-large council member is scheduled to take the oath of office on Monday, March 4 and serve through the November special election. See below for a list of applicants and a detailed timeline.
