At a special meeting Tuesday, Feb. 19, the Minnetonka City Council selected Susan Carter to temporarily fill the council’s at-large seat, vacated when Patty Acomb was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives.

The council solicited applications and conducted interviews with finalists Feb. 19. Carter was selected from a pool of six finalists. The council will officially make the appointment at its Monday, Feb. 25 meeting, and she’ll take the oath of office on Monday, March 4.

There will be a special election Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, to fill the remainder of the term (through December 2021). Carter will serve until the results of the November election are certified and the winner is sworn-in.
