About the grant

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a federal Housing and Urban Development program that provides funding to communities like Minnetonka to address a wide range of activities benefiting low- to moderate-income households.

Changes to the grant

Beginning in 2018, CDBG funds for social services will be awarded through a combined Request for Proposals (RFP) coordinated by Hennepin County in partnership with Minnetonka and other participating cities.

Requirements to apply

  • Organizations must have 501(c) (3) status
  • Activities must benefit low- to moderate-income households in Minnetonka

  • February 2018
    Interested Minnesota social services organizations should submit applications to Hennepin County
  • May–July 2018
    Hennepin County Board and HUD approve funding awards


The deadline to apply is Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 at 4:30 p.m.
