When deciding whether or not to notify residents about a crime in the area, the Minnetonka Police Department considers the following:

  • Trends, including how many incidents take place over a specific period of time, how close the incidents are geographically, and if the suspects use the same method to commit the crime;
  • Specific suspect information; and
  • Whether or not the crimes pose a risk to the neighborhood.

Interested residents can receive information about criminal activity in their area in the following ways:

  • View the interactive crime map on the city’s website.
  • Subscribe to ePrevent, which allows residents who are not members of a Neighborhood Watch Club to receive crime alerts.
  • Join a Neighborhood Watch Club. To find out if there is a club in your neighborhood, contact the Police Department at 952-939-8500.
