Special interest groups
- Alcoholics Anonymous/Al-Anon
- These groups meet on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. The meetings involve the Big Book, 12 Steps or someone’s story. Any age is welcome.
- Great Books
- This group meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:15 p.m. in the Glen Lake Room.
- Book Club
- This group meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 1 p.m. New members are welcome.
- Bingo
- This group plays bingo at 12:45 p.m. every Tuesday.
- Bird Club
- This club always meets on the first Friday of every month unless otherwise noted. During each meeting there is a guest speaker featured. Visitors and new members are welcome.
- Billiards
- Join others for a game of billiards upstairs at the Center, most days at 1 p.m. Dates vary; please see the calendar in the Minnetonka Script for details.
- Biking
- This group bikes every Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
- Bridge
- There are three times when bridge is played at the Center.
- Social bridge
- Monday evenings at 6 p.m. Please be there by 5:50 p.m. No partners needed.
- Social bridge
- Wednesday afternoons at 1 p.m. No partners needed, call 952.939.8393 for reservations.
- Duplicate bridge
- Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. Partners needed.
Chess Club- Know the chess basics? Come join us for social chess. Looking for advanced beginners/intermediate chess players to hone their skills and check mate opponents. This will be held on Thursdays from 12–1:30 p.m.
- Choir
- This group rehearses every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., September–May, and performs in the community once a month.
- Computer Interest Group
- Join this group on Friday mornings from 10–12 p.m. to examine topics of interest to a membership of approximately 70, 35–40 of whom attend regularly. Experience ranges from “beginner” to “expert,” with “amateur” predominating. This is not a group of “techies.” Come to a few meetings and look us over. We think you’ll find the experience worthwhile.
- 500 Club
- Do you enjoy playing the card game 500? If so, join us every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. to play a friendly game of 500. Everyone is welcome.
- Digital Camera
- Digital camera one-on-one help will be provided Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. in half-hour segments. Call 952.939.8393 for an appointment. Bring your camera to your appointment.
- Garden Club
- Meets the second Monday of every month at 1 p.m. On May 16, garden club members will attend the Backyard Composting Program at 10:30 a.m. at the Minnetonka Senior Center. Cost is $2 and includes a hot lunch. Call 952.939.8393 to register. In June, long-time gardener Ken Vogel will visit for an informational Q and A session.
- Men’s discussion group
- Join a Men’s Discussion group Mondays, 10 a.m.–12 p.m. Discuss crrent events in an informal setting.

- Minnetonka Senior Chorale
- New members are welcome on Wednesday mornings from 10–12 p.m, September–May. The group is in need of an assistant accompanist.
- Nintendo Wii

Get active with the Nintendo Wii gaming system! Enjoy bowling, golf and tennis played with wireless, handheld controls. Up to four players at a time. Questions? Call 952.939.8393.
- Poetry
- This group meets the first Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. First gathering is set for Wednesday, Sept. 3. You are cordially invited to join us as we form a new group devoted to enjoying poetry. We’ll write some, read some and share old/new favorites and new discoveries. We’ll invite local poets to talk, starting with Phebe Hanson.

- This group quilts every second and fourth Monday at 1 p.m.
- Senior Singles
- This group meets once a month for lunch and a trip. If you are interested in learning more about the senior singles please call 952.939.8392. New members welcome.
- Scribblers
- Join this writing group on Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. If you have an interest in writing short stories, essays or poems, this is the group to share it with.
- Tale Spinners
- Do you enjoy writing? Come and join a welcoming group of friends you haven’t met yet who will support and encourage your efforts. Tale Spinners meet every Tuesday from 1–3:00 pm.
- Tonka Tale Tellers
- We call it rapport and support, and we’d like to offer it to you! These 5–8 readers tell stories with a message to stimulate the imaginations of young children. The Tonka Tale Tellers go to elementary schools in the area and read scripts that are library-researched and adapted to skit form. New members welcome.
Wood Carvers- Join the group every Thursday morning at 10 a.m. This group works independently and shares ideas with each other. New participants are always welcome.
