Household Hazardous Waste

Residents may dispose of household hazardous waste (HHW) at no cost at either of Hennepin County’s permanent HHW Drop-off facilities:
- Brooklyn Park
- 8100 Jefferson Highway
- Bloomington
- 1400 96th Street
The facilities are open Tuesday–Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Wednesday till 8 p.m.), and Saturday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sundays, Mondays, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years Day.
Paint, stain, thinners, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, cleaners, aerosol cans, fluorescent and HID lamps, thermostats, switches and thermometers containing mercury, rechargeable appliances and batteries. Also accepted for no charge are consumer electronics (TVs, radios, stereos, VCRs, camcorders, telephones, computers, monitors and printers). Do not tape lamps together. Containers must be 5 gallons or less.
The HHW Drop-off is open to any Hennepin County resident and only accepts items from households. No hazardous waste or problem materials can be accepted from businesses, including home businesses or non-profit organizations.
