The city’s 14 major community-owned buildings, in addition to several outbuildings, are in constant use by residents and visitors. To be kept in a safe and operable condition, these facilities require preventive and scheduled maintenance and, in some cases, emergency repair. The building maintenance staff provides a wide range of services, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing and physical plant maintenance. The building maintenance division also employs outside professionals and/or contractors in the skilled trades to assist with specialized services.
