Crime alerts
While Minnetonka prides itself on its relatively low crime rate, crime does occur in the city. To help keep city residents, visitors and business owners informed and safe, the Minnetonka Police Department participates in the Minnesota Crime Alert Network. This tool allows law enforcement personnel to distribute information about criminal activity and suspects quickly and in the most cost-efficient manner. When a significant crime occurs in a registered alert area, a crime summary is immediately faxed by the police department to businesses in order to increase awareness and assist in apprehension of criminals.

- The Minnetonka Police Department thanks you for your help in locating dogs that were seen in the vicinity of Scenic Heights Elementary and a residence where a small dog was attacked and seriously injured. The owners have voluntarily come forward and are cooperating.
