Comprehensive Guide Plan Survey
We’d like to hear from you!
The city of Minnetonka has just begun the process of updating the comprehensive guide plan, a document that will set the stage for future development of the city through 2030.
Many changes will take place between now and then, all of which have implications for city services and programs. Trends include the expected “silver tsunami” that will have more senior citizens than school-age children living in Minnesota for the first time in state history; development pressures and transportation issues that already exist, but will intensify as a predicted one million additional people move into Minnesota by 2030; and concerns about the environment and the pressure to develop alternative energy sources.
As the comp plan process begins, we’d like to hear what you value most about Minnetonka; what issues concern you; and what issues you think city leaders should pay the closest attention to over the next ten years. You can either fill out the postage-paid card that will be included in the March Minnetonka Memo, or take a few minutes to answer the questions online. Both mailed and online responses are due by March 31, 2007. Watch the city Web site and future editions of the Minnetonka Memo for ongoing information about the comprehensive guide plan.
