Food manager
sanitation certification
A Certified Food Manager is required in most Minnesota food establishments due to a provision in the food manager certification rule of the Minnesota Food Code, effective July 1, 2000. At least one person per shift in each food establishment should have current Food Manager Sanitation Certification. Establishments that have limited food/beverage handling or prepackaged food/beverages may be directed toward a less extensive course.
The following organizations have provided information stating they offer an accredited Food Managers Sanitation Course (~16 hours). In addition, some of these organizations offer re-certification classes. Re-certification should be completed every three years.
The Minnetonka Environmental Health Division does not endorse any product or service, but provides this information as a public service. This list may not include all organizations offering training for the Food Manager Sanitation Certification. Contact individual organizations for course prices, dates, and other details.
