Learn more about local government at the Minnetonka Citizen Academy, which takes place every two years in January and February at Minnetonka City Hall. During this free program, participants hear presentations over six evenings from various departments of the city including police, fire, administration, planning, community development, engineering, public works, recreation, legal and finance.
Hopkins-Minnetonka Recreation Services hosts Kids’ Fest every year in late January or early February. There are a variety of free activities, including dog-sled rides, ice carving competition, face painting, magic shows and more! Activities vary each year.
State of the City Address
Every February, the mayor of Minnetonka hosts an early morning State of the City Address at the Minnetonka Community Center. The public is invited to attend. Look for information in January each year.
Eco Fun Fest and Native Plant Market
The annual event is held outdoors in early June and features a native plant market, plant walks and fun kid activities.
The Summer Festival is typically on the fourth Saturday in June at the civic center campus (14600 Minnetonka Boulevard). Other activities are held around the city throughout the day. The festivities conclude with fireworks.
Burwell House Festival
This event is held in conjunction with the Summer Festival on the fourth Saturday in June, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Charles H. Burwell House (13209 E. McGinty Road).
Arts in the Park
The City of Minnetonka offers a number of events throughout the summer at the outdoor amphitheater on the civic center campus (14600 Minnetonka Boulevard). Be sure to watch for the summer schedules for Theater in the Park, Music in the Park and the Movie in the Park events.
The Minnetonka Farmers Market is set for 3-7 p.m. in the summer months at the Minnetonka Civic Center Campus (14600 Minnetonka Boulevard).
Night for Neighbors
The Minnetonka Night for Neighbors is usually held the first Tuesday in August. Head outside to meet and greet your neighbors; give crime and drugs a going-away party!
Fire Department and City Open House
Meet city staff and learn more about local government with other residents and families. The open house is typically on a Tuesday evening, 5–8 p.m. in early October at the civic center campus (14600 Minnetonka Boulevard).
